View private Facebook profile

Why would you want to view someone's private Facebook profile? I'm not going to argue the "ethics" of this... I'm going to answer the question straight, and let everyone else argue whether it's right or wrong. I am not even going to refer to some hacks and cracks that doesn't work instead lets use some psychological principles.

OPTION 1 (Limited access to Private Facebook Profile)
Whenever you click on a person’s name there will be three options available: Add as Friend, Send a Message, and View Friends.

  1. Click on Send a Message to message to the person whose profile you are interested in..
  2. Send them a message saying “Hey, this is .... and I met you ...(somewhere the person might visit often, like college classes)...”
  3. They might send you back a message either positive or negative.
  4. No matter what they say you will now have access to their limited profile as soon as the message is sent without adding them as a friend.

OPTION 2 (Full access to Private Facebook Profile)
This alternative takes longer but this will get you into somebody’s full Facebook profile. The concept is basically to set up a profile in which the person thinks you are actually someone that they already know.

  1. View your victims friends list. Find one of their friends that does not have a Facebook default profile picture. This will most likely be a person that does not use Facebook very often.
  2. Create a new Facebook account with the exact same name or something similar that will confuse the user as the profile that does not have a default profile picture.
  3. Once you have created that new account, go and add about 20 of his/her friends. Since they will most likely be mutual friends with both of you, they will most likely add you.
  4. Now that you have an account of his/her known friend and about 20 mutual friends. Send a friend request or a message and tell him or her that this is your new facebook account. There will be no reason for him/her to not believe you and he/she will add you.
  5. Now, you have complete access to their profile on Facebook.

Facebook Timeline

CEO Mark Zuckeberg showed off the new features " The Facebook Timeline" in his keynote at the company’s f8 conference. It algorithmically organizes everything you’ve done on Facebook. All the photos you've posted to the changes made in your relationship status, check in , apps and everything possible. Its basically a new type of Profile, that organizes everything you have done in Facebook Chronologically. It also allows users to fill out a “Way Back” section to add details that are omitted or occurred before the social network.

Facebook expects to roll out Timeline in a few weeks, but you can see what it looks like in the video above and also sign up for timeline right now. We’re also tracking Facebook’s announcements for any new updates.

To signup for timeline click on the image below:

Will Facebook Timeline Effect your privacy?
We’re all going to fall victim to these Facebook Timeline privacy concerns as we familiarize ourselves with the new feature.  Have no fear, it’s not like adding an app to your Timeline is irreversible, you can remove it at any time. Also note that when you add an app to your Timeline, you get the option to share your activity with “Public,” “Friends” or “Custom.” By clicking “Custom,” you get the option to hide your activity from everyone but yourself.

Facebook's Smart Lists : Status updates visible only to your Close friends!

This week Facebook brought new feature designed to make it easier to share posts with small groups of people by separating your best friends from your so called friends. Creating custom lists of Facebook friends was available since a long time, but now Facebook will automatically create a few lists based on your profile information. You can edit these lists and create new ones yourself. Facebook calls it a Smart List.

To see if you’ve got the smart lists yet, look on the left side of your Facebook profile page. You should see a section titled Lists:

When you look at a friend’s profile, there’ll be a button at the upper right that pops up a menu to add them to one of two new standardized lists — Close Friends and Acquaintances.

You can also use this feature while you post status updates by selecting close friends, which enable only your close friends to see the status update that you don't want your so-so friends to see.

The core idea behind Facebook’s enhanced lists is that you can share a status update with only a list of friends, rather than with all of your Facebook friends. Avoiding status updates that you don't care about.

How to Fix Pop.mp3 Problem?

There is more and more concern about the "Pop.mp3" files being downloaded. The problems is not apparent only on Google Crome v4.0.223.11 for windows, which is a developer's version. This issue has been noticed in Firefox, internet explorer as well as Chrome 4.0.249.43 for Linux and also in Win7 x64. The problem doesn't seem to be a part of the browser's broader problem of not being able to handle playing of media files correctly. It also has nothing to do with Windows 7 since there is same problem on linux too. It has also been said that you need to have updated version of flash downloaded from youtube but it has nothing to do with Flash either it pops up even though you have updated version of flash.

People are being more disappointed with Google chrome beta v4.0.223.11, in my opinion it must be because of their auto download without notification feature, that downloads files before you can notice. Google chrome notifies when the site is trying to download multiple files, and if you want it to stop the files from downloading you can click on yes, it stops to download the file but you wont get the pop sound notification anymore.

This problem might also be solved if You install the flashblock extension which, automatically blocks flash content on webpages and then add www.facebook.com to its white list. However, people are complaining that this extension slows down page loading and gives frequent "aw snap" errors. The problem is caused by .mp3 file not .flv so i don't think there's any thing to do with flash on this problem.

Analyzing all the cases there seems to be no other proper solution than to go to the bottom right of facebook, where the chat is and Uncheck play sounds for new messages. You won't get notifications but you don't have to download pop.mp3 to your hard drive.

pop.mp3 is this a Facebook Virus?

"pop.mp3" is the sound when you receive a message on facebook chat. Instead of playing the sound like normal browser downloads the file, which will leave your downloads folder plagued by these horrible, annoying files. You will get this file from facebook when someone wants to chat with you.

If you are using chrome it automatically downloads the file into the download folder.

If you are playing mp3's, while chatting in facebook (firefox) then it pops up and keeps on comming up even after you cancel the download.

It pops up at the bottom part of a browser when someone sends you a message but it seams random doesn't happen on every reply.

To reproduce the problem?
1. Chat with someone on facebook
2. Minimize chrome, or go to another tab
3. Wait until a message arrives....

expected result?
'Pop' sound...
instead?
pop.mp3 download

How to Fix this Problem?
It's that pop-sound that should be played when someone chats with you on facebook. So try to
go to the bottom right of facebook, where the chat is.
Go to options and Uncheck play sounds for new messages, that should stop the problem.

Hopefully google will fix this soon.
